Can Anybody be Hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a normal state that you go in and out of hundreds of times a day. But if you do not want to be hypnotised you will simply not allow it to happen.
You are the one in control.
On the other hand, if you want to undergo hypnosis and you trust the process, you will be easily hypnotised. There are three key elements that are essential for any hypnosis session, which I will explain in detail below.
You Need to Relax
The first is that you need to relax.
It’s perfectly normal to feel a little apprehensive if it is your first time. But you have to trust your hypnotherapist or you won’t allow yourself to be hypnotised.
And, since in order to feel relaxed you have to feel comfortable, it’s important that you choose your therapist wisely.
When you’re choosing a hypnotherapist make sure you are comfortable with the person you are seeing. Trust and rapport are paramount in this process.
You Need to Co-operate
The second thing is that you need to co-operate.
Hypnosis is essentially self-hypnosis so I need your permission if we’re going to work together. As I previously mentioned if you’re not willing to go with the process, hypnosis will not work.
In my practice I have seen thousands of clients, all of whom went into a state of hypnosis easily.
In all that time there have only been one or two people who didn’t respond to the process, and this is because they were in a highly agitated state at the time.
So, you need to be in the right headspace when you undergo hypnosis. For more information on the right conditions and environment to undergo hypnosis, read the ‘is hypnosis safe’ page.
You Need to Concentrate
And finally, you need to be willing and able to concentrate on my voice. When you do this, the rest will take care of itself.
Hypnosis puts you in a state where your subconscious mind is highly tuned in to what I am saying, while your conscious mind is turned down during that time.
